Well, I think it is much better than the last few which I did not even bother to purchase. Crystal Empire and Eternity are their two CDs that I currently have in my library, because I feel that they had the catchiest and best songwriting. More recently, IIRC they had tried to move away from their power metal style to something a little more modern but it didn't come off that well. With this new CD, they seem to have incorporated their roots along with some modern elements and pulled it off very successfully. The opening track is a real traditional galloper with some serious Queen influence/obvious rip off, but it's great. (Maybe they've been listening to some Bloodbound?) I just think they get off to a great start and never mess it up anywhere. Pretty impressed, and I am hard to please these days when it comes to power metal.
Actually, I fully expect Avantasia to trounce this but then again they are not quite in the same style/category anyway.
