: Why in the hell has David DeFeis decided that the guitar must be
: almost inaudible on a metal CD? Metal means "guitar" upfront for
: me not "piano"...Visions Of Eden could be good if only the
: guitars were heavy and upfront, as it was the case on their best
: albums, the 2 Marriage Of Heaven & Hell and Invictus, also Noble
: Savage. This one was just dull because of the lack of
: guitars...Was Edward Pursino still in the band? If so, why did he
: accept that lack of guitars on the final mix of the album?
: Hopefully DeFeis will come back to his senses soon, and will
: release something worth listening before he gets too old and
: retires.
: That saddens me to write this cause Virgin Steele was one of my
: fave band in the 90s. I started to not care about them after
: Invictus, which is their last great album IMO.
I agree with almost all of this, except there's a lot I like from the first House of Atreus disc too. Visions of Eden bored the hell out of me.
